House Team is a household coordination service. One person runs a household in the app; everyone else receives messages — a morning plan, hand-offs, reminders, and a weekly summary — and can reply by text.

These terms govern text messages sent by a household's House Team number, (949) 832-6020.

1. How to opt in. You join a household's texting program by texting the word START to (949) 832-6020. Households only invite people they know personally, and the head of household tells each person to expect the number before they text it. Texting START is the opt-in; the program never texts anyone who hasn't texted first.
2. What you'll receive. Messages from your household's head of household and the House Team service: the day's plan, tasks handed to you, reminders, and a weekly summary.
3. Where the full program information lives. The first message you receive after you opt in states the program name, that message and data rates may apply, how to get help, and how to opt out. That information also lives in these terms. Later messages to you may not repeat it.
4. Frequency. Message frequency varies by household and week. Expect roughly a few messages a day at most, and fewer most days.
5. Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Message and data rates are set by your mobile carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Opting out. Reply STOP to (949) 832-6020 at any time to leave the program. You'll receive one confirmation message and nothing further.
7. Help. Reply HELP for help, or email hi@houseteam.app.
8. No marketing. House Team numbers are never used for promotional or marketing messages of any kind.

House Team passes along what the head of a household writes and what people reply. It doesn't make decisions for a household, and it isn't responsible if someone says yes and then forgets. The people are the point; the app is the clipboard.

If you run a household, you promise the people you add actually know you and expect to hear from you. Don't use House Team to message strangers, and never for marketing — that gets a household shut down.

Anyone can stop receiving messages by replying STOP. A head of household can remove anyone, anytime. Households that misuse the service lose it.
